Back to school, Back to Sickness??

It’s back to school season which means your kiddos are bringing home those cold and flu bugs again. Have you ever wondered why every year like clockwork your kids get sick the first couple weeks of the school year? Well, a multitude of factors play in to this. One of the more obvious ones is their proximity to other kids. They are back in close quarters and sharing supplies for long periods of time, thus sharing those pesky germs. On top of that, they have heightened stress due to seasonal change, schedule change, and sleep disruption among other reasons, which is affecting their immune and nervous systems.

We can’t necessarily change most of these circumstances, however we can affect how their bodies adapt to these added stressors. Our personal favorite way to help keep sickness at bay is getting your kid’s nervous system checked! By getting their spines checked and adjusted, we can help relieve some of the extra pressure that is weighing on their nervous system from trying to fight off these illnesses, which in turn allows it to communicate more freely with the immune system like it was designed to.

It also helps improve their sleep which is a vital time in the day for your body to repair and restore.  Keep in mind the symptoms you get when you become sick like a runny nose or sore throat are your body’s way of fighting these sick bugs off NATURALLY.
